While many may be familiar with its vodka-based variation, the original gin Cosmopolitan precedes it by 40 years. The recipe was uncovered by Jared Brown in a 1933 cocktail book, Pioneers of Mixing Gins at Elite Bars, written by the American Travelling Mixologists. You can substitute the raspberry-infused sugar syrup with 4 fresh raspberries and two teaspoons of sugar syrup.

Ingredients & Method

Cocktail Ingredients

- 2 Parts Beefeater Gin
- 1/2 Part Triple sec
- 1/2 Part Freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 Part Raspberry-infused sugar syrup


Shake all ingredients vigorously with ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.
