While many may be familiar with its vodka-based variation, the original gin Cosmopolitan precedes it by 40 years. The recipe was uncovered by Jared Brown in a 1933 cocktail book, Pioneers of Mixing Gins at Elite Bars, written by the American Travelling Mixologists.
